Govt. should not assume its presidential candidate will be elected: cleric

TEHRAN,Sept.8(MNA) – Assembly of Experts Chairman Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Mahdavi Kani said on Wednesday that the administration of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad should not assume that its candidate for the next presidential election will definitely be elected. Mahdavi Kani made the remarks in response to Ahmadinejad’s interview that was broadcast live on Iranian television on Tuesday night, in which he said that his government’s plans would continue beyond 2013. The second term of the Ahmadinejad administration ends in the summer of 2013.
