Hiring unqualified people is against sharia: grand ayatollah

QOM, May 13 (MNA) -- Grand Ayatollah Hossein Vahid Khorasani said that employing unqualified people in jobs is a managerial mistake which “goes against sharia (Islamic law).” Anybody who takes a job should be knowledgeable, honest, and efficient, Ayatollah Hossein Vahid Khorasani said in a meeting with Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf on Saturday. The ayatollah also praised Qalibaf’s performance as Tehran mayor, saying, “Fortunately, since you took over as Tehran mayor, changes in the city are quite evident.” Qalibaf, who traveled to Qom on Friday, also sheld talks with Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ali Alavi, Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi, Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani, and Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani on Saturday. In his meeting with Qalibaf on Saturday, Ayatollah Alavi said Tehran has changed a lot in comparison to the past and these changes have had a great effect on the national economy. “… in these years that you have held the post, many hurdles were created for you, intentional, unintentional, political, non-political, but you left them all behind,” Ayatollah Alavi added. Tehran should have characteristics of an Islamic city Ayatollah Yazdi, who is the chairman of the Qom Seminary Teachers Association, told Qalibaf that Tehran should have the characteristics of an Islamic city. “The capital of Islamic Iran should be devoid of Western architecture and should have the appearance and characteristics of an Islamic city,” Ayatollah Yazdi said.
