Hope to make up for the lost time in Tehran-Cairo ties

TEHRAN,May 9(MNA)--During a meeting with a number of Egyptian academics and students in Tehran on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said unfortunately the Iranian and Egyptian nations have not had ties for 30 years, but Tehran hopes to make up for the lost time.
Commenting on the affinities, he said that the two countries can complete each other and play a leading role in Muslim world through cooperation.
Salehi called the Egyptian revolution a great event for the region and the world and expressed hope that the Egyptian people would shape a glorious future for their country through following the path of their revolution in the upcoming presidential election.
