IAEA Chief Should Reconsider His Attitude On Iran: Soltanieh

Vienna, Nov 19, IRNA – Islamic Republic of Iran's permanent representative at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh said the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano has committed a historic mistake in his latest report on Iran which needs reconsideration. Soltanieh made the remarks after IAEA's board of governors meeting in Vienna on Friday. Referring to the fact that Amano's biased behavior resulted in disarray among IAEA member-states, Soltanieh recommended Amano to change his attitude toward Iran. 'Unfortunately, Mr. Amano did not listen to recommendations by 100 member-states of the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as China and Russia and committed a historic mistake by issuing his latest report on Iran's nuclear activities,' Soltanieh said in an exclusive interview with IRNA. Referring to a recent statement by the non-aligned movement (NAM) in support of Iran and criticizing Amano's performance, Iranian diplomat pointed out that criticism of 100 NAM member-states from Amano's performance has an important political and historical message. Soltanieh pointed out that over past eight years the Islamic Republic of Iran has not received any document on diversion from the peaceful path in its nuclear activities./end
