ICIM conference in Tehran is broadcast live worldwide

Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA – The inauguration ceremony of the 10th Conference of Islamic Countries Information Ministers (ICIM) was broadcast live in at least 30 Islamic TV networks worldwide. Around 100 resident reporters and 10 media persons accompanying participating delegations worked with Iranian reporters, photographers and cameramen. News was reflected in neighboring, Arab, European and American media. Islamic Radio and TV Union with at least 200 Radio and TV networks also covered the event. Al-Mayadeen TV network senior correspondent in Tehran Nouralddin al-Daghir, by referring to Palestine and emerging terrorist groups in the region, as two important issues in the Islamic world called time for holding the conference appropriate and said that the meeting should concentrate on solution for these two issues. Al-Mayadeen senior correspondent also underlined necessity of creation a network for Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and said that such a network could be an element for political unity among member countries. Reporter of International Islamic News Agency (IINA) Amani Hassani, by referring to desirable holding of the conference, expressed hope that the meeting bear positive results. She called unity among Islamic countries as an important issue proposed in the conference and underlined development of relations between Islamic countries. The 10th Conference of Islamic Countries Information Ministers was held in Tehran on December 1-2 in expert level and on December 3 in the ministerial level. Tehran conference had participants from 57 Islamic countries and was an opportunity for consideration of necessary information on sustainable peace development in the region. Emergence of ISIS and similar groups in the region could be a result of a vacuum of information dissemination, so Islamic countries should compile a comprehensive map for regional news transmission. The first conference was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 26 years ago and the 9th conference was held in Libreville, Republic of Gabon./end
