Indian Religious Heads Of All Faiths Condemn Anti-Islam US Film

New Delhi, Sept 29, IRNA – Indian religious leaders of all faiths from a common platform Friday condemned anti-Islam US movie in Lucknow, capital city of Uttar Pradesh state. Thousands of Indian Muslims under the banner of Majlis Ulema-e-Hind, led by Maulana Kalbe Jawwad, Majlis General Secretary and religious heads of Hindu took out a protest march from historical Asafi Masjid to Chota Imambara after Friday prayers to condemn the anti-Islam movie and demanded that UP and Indian government should mount pressure on the United Nations to issue a direction for banning the movie in member countries. Addressing the protestors the religious leaders demanded an immediate ban on blasphemous movie hosted on social networking sites and Youtube, as the film hurts the religious sentiments and has caused widespread resentment. Religious leaders of all faiths condemned those who fanned hatred in the name of an anti-Islam movie, saying freedom of expression should not be abused by people to "provoke or humiliate" the values and beliefs of others. Raising slogans against the West, the protestors burnt the flags of US, Israel, France and also the effigy of Obama. A 14-minute trailer for the video titled “Innocence of Muslims,” was uploaded on the internet depicting Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in a derogatory manner. According to media reports, the video is a brain child of a 52-year old Israeli-American, Sam Bacile who had received a donation of $5 million from 100 Jewish donors to make a movie called “Islam is Cancer.”/end
