Intra-Syrian consultations in Moscow yield 10-provision final document

MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. A Moscow meeting between representatives of Syria’s government and the opposition has been crowned by a final document, a source close to the talks told TASS on Thursday. "The document has been adopted. It consists of ten provisions," the source added. The document is expected to be later read out by the leader of the Syrian governmental delegation, Bashar al-Jafari, who represents Syria at the United Nations. According to TASS sources, the document notes the necessity to settle the conflict on the basis of the Geneva communique of June 30, 2012. It also contains a call on the international community to exert influence on regional players to make them realize the United Nations Security Council resolutions on Syria, stop bloodshed and lift economic blockade. The sides also agreed to support anti-terrorism efforts. Participants in the consultations call on the international community to extend assistance in returning temporarily displaced persons. The document stresses that the only path to reach a political solution is a national dialogue between the Syrians without any outside pressure. Participants in the consultation agreed to ask the world community to support their accords to be reached at a Moscow meeting to continue the process in the Geneva-3 format. Read more
