IOC secretary general calls Iraqis to maintain integrity of the country

ANKARA (A.A) - December 21, 2011 - Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called Iraqis to uphold Iraq's unity, security and resolve differences through dialogue and consensus. OIC stated on Wednesday that Ihsanoglu was following with deep concern the current developments in Iraq, particularly after the withdrawal of U.S. forces, and he expressed his confidence in the ability of Iraq to adhere to the unity of Iraq and its independence and security. The Secretary General appealed to all Iraqi people to put the interests of Iraq's supreme above all other interest and to resolve contentious issues through dialogue and consensus in the framework of national unity and to give priority to building institutions and achieving sustainable development for all Iraqi people.
