Iran’s Nuclear Negotiating Team In Geneva

Tehran, Nov 6, IRNA – Iran’s negotiating team arrived in Geneva, Switzerland, on Wednesday one day ahead of the start of the new round of Iran-5+1 nuclear talks.
Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, as well as Abbas Araqchi, Hamid Ba’eidinejad, Davoud Mohammadnia and Mohammad Amiri, all deputies to the foreign minister, are members of the Iranian team.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, is currently in Paris as a special guest of the 37th session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Zarif is to arrive in Geneva later on Wednesday after addressing the UNESCO meeting.
The talks between Iranian officials and representatives of the sextet (US, France, Russia, Britain and China plus Germany) is to start on Thursday.
The new round of talks will be presided jointly by Zarif and the European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.
The last round of Iran-5+1 talks was held in Geneva on October 15-16 when Iran presented new proposals to the sextet.
The Iranian proposal, in the form of a PowerPoint, was entitled “An end to a unnecessary crisis, a beginning to new horizons.”
Both sides later said that the talks were serious, positive and constructive./end
