Iran’s political influence foiled U.S. plots in Iraq: Iranian general

TEHRAN, May 24 (MNA)-- A senior military advisor to the Supreme Leader said on Wednesday that the United States failed to achieve its purposes in Iraq due to Iran’s political influence in the Arab country. “If you see that the Americans could not achieve their political purpose, namely the establishment of a secular government in Iraq that would be Iran’s enemy, this has been the result of Iran’s political influence,” said Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, the former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps.
