Iran-5+1 talks may be held in November: Russia

TEHRAN,Oct.20(MNA) – The next round of nuclear negotiations between world powers and Iran can be held in November, after the sides agree on the venue, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Thursday, Interfax reported. “It would be realistic to talk about organizing one in November,” Ryabkov stated. He added that the next meeting will probably be held between EU Foreign Policy chief Catherine Ashton and the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, who is Iran’s top nuclear negotiator. As for the place, Ryabkov noted that this will be decided later, yet he said “it will not be Moscow.” On Monday, Ashton expressed hope that the nuclear talks with Iran would “advance very soon”. “I hope we will be able to make progress very soon,” Ashton stated, adding, “I absolutely think there is room for negotiations.” The latest round of high-level talks between Iran and the six major powers was held in Moscow on June 18 and 19. And, the most recent meeting between Jalili and Ashton was held in Istanbul on September 18.
