Iran, 5+1 Talks Must Continue : Pakistani Analyst

Islamabad, Oct 31, IRNA – Senior Pakistani analyst on Tuesday said that talks between Iran and 5+1 group must continue to settle the issues through peaceful solutions. Talking to IRNA, Maj Gen (Retd) Jamshed Ayaz Khan, however, urged the western powers to show sensibility and positive attitude in talks with the Islamic Republic. “Western powers have to understand that Iran cannot be pressurized,’ the analyst viewed. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Abbas Araqchi has urged members of the G 5+1 to show good-will in the next round of talks with Iran and use their every potentials to settle the remaining issues through peaceful solutions. Maj Gen (Retd) Jamshed Ayaz Khan expressing his views said that next round of talks between Iran and 5+1 group would be successful. “Negotiations are the only way to solve issues, but they should be sensible and focused,” said that analyst. He said that right now there is no room for talks between Iranian and US officials. “These are all elections tactics,” he pointed out. He added, what is important is that Iran and 5+1 negotiations must continue. Maj Gen (Retd) Jamshed Ayaz Khan agreed with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister that Zionist regime was behind the cancellation of visit to Tehran by a delegation from the European Parliament. “We are ready for talks and our logic is clear, so there is no reason to refuse negotiations for baseless excuses,” Araqchi stressed. Jamshed Ayaz Khan went on to say that visits must not be cancelled because talking is always better. Jamshed Ayaz Khan retired as a Major General in 2001 after serving for approximately 39 years in the Army including eleven years as a General Officer. Khan is a supporter of Pakistan increasing its economic and geopolitical relations with Iran and other regional friends and has been a critic of American policies in the region./end
