Iran advises South and North Korea against ‘provocative’ actions

TEHRAN,April 8(MNA)– Iran has advised South and North Korea to avoid any “provocative” actions that may heighten tension on the Korean peninsula.
Iran thinks the tension rising between South Korea and the United States and North Korea should be defused, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told the Mehr News Agency in an interview published on Sunday.
He said, “The actions that are provocative should be stopped, and actions of the countries which come to these areas from thousands of kilometers away and conduct military exercises are provocative. And we think the United States of America is constantly creating crisis and tension with its military presence in different areas.
“If U.S. officials or certain European countries truly want the establishment of stability in different countries, no matter in Asia or Africa, they must be aware that their actions go against their claims.
“Military presence, avarice, and provocative actions undermine the security of the region, and naturally when the situation moves toward insecurity, the actions of both sides may get out of control and harm the entire region.”
Mehmanparast added, “Our advice is that neither side move toward provocative actions nor fan the flames of the crisis.”
North Korea has issued warnings of imminent war with South Korea and the United States, urging foreign diplomats on Friday to consider evacuation.
