Iran and Nicaragua call for expansion of ties

TEHRAN,April 9(MNA) – The Iranian president has called for an expansion of ties with all revolutionary nations, especially the Central American country of Nicaragua.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made the remarks during a meeting on Monday with Nicaraguan National Assembly Speaker Sandinista René Nunez.
“Today the arrogant countries and enemies of nations are in a weak position,” he said, adding, “The revolutionary spirit is spreading throughout the world.”
Ahmadinejad said, “The global monetary system, which is reliant on dollar, is transferring the United State’s problems to other nations and, in return, is shifting nations’ wealth to the United States. This is in fact a systematic robbery that prevents countries to achieve welfare.”
Ahmadinejad appreciated Nicaragua’s policies towards Iran in international conventions, saying that Iran and Nicaragua are brotherly countries that have common goals and foes.
The Nicaraguan parliament speaker hailed Iran for its progress in various areas, saying that his country is well aware that it should defend Iran’s goals and rights.
René Nunez also said that not only the Nicaraguan president and other officials, but also its people condemn the sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He expressed hope that the first visit of a Nicaraguan parliamentary delegation to Iran would be a starting point for an expansion of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
