Iran arrests 20 involved in assassinations of nuclear scientists

TEHRAN,June 19(MNA) - Twenty people have been arrested in connection with the assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists, Iranian Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi said. Moslehi, who was speaking to the Young Journalists Club, stated that details of the operations, including the places where the suspects had been detained, would be released later. Asked if the arrestees were linked with the Mossad-linked spies and terrorists whose arrests were announced on April 10, the Iranian intelligence minister stated, “They were definitely linked, but this does not mean that these two networks were directly linked in the country.” The Zionist regime is being supported by the United States and Britain, Moslehi added, noting, “In addition to receiving such support, the Zionist regime is taking full advantage of soil and facilities of a number of countries to carry out such operations. According to the findings related to the two recent networks, the regime occupying al-Quds had made utmost use of the soil of a country neighboring us. The (the Zionists) even have a terrorist training and a military base there.” And elements affiliated with the Zionist regime, the U.S., and Britain, who are based there, have been hatching and carrying out plots against the Islamic Republic of Iran, he stated. “However, we are certain that such actions are being taken without the knowledge and permission of the government in question,” Moslehi added. He also said that the Iranian intelligence apparatus had already found information about the use of the soil of certain neighbors of Iran by the “evil triad” of the U.S., Britain, and Israel, and “we plan to give them warnings in a proper way.”
