Iran condemns clashes in Lebanon

TEHRAN,June 26(MNA) --Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian denounced the recent clashes between the Lebanese army and radical groups that left at least 16 people dead and 50 others wounded. The clashes broke out between the army and supporters of hard-line Sunni cleric Takfiri Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir in the southern city of Sidon on Sunday, the latest bout of violence in Lebanon linked to the foreign-sponsored insurgency in neighboring Syria.
