Iran Condemns Israeli Attempt To Declare Holy Qods As Its Capital

Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Sunday condemned the Zionist regime for declaring holy Qods as its capital. In a meeting with Representative of Hamas government Khaled Qaddoumi, he renewed support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Palestinian people and its democratically elected government. Both officials reviewed the latest developments in Palestine and the Mideast in light of the Islamic Awakening movements in the region. Amir Abdollahian said that new political and security arrangements are emerging in light of the Islamic Awakening movements which will drive the Zionist regime to isolation. He said that the Islamic Awakening movements have made governments take into account the public demands. On Syria, Amir Abdollahian criticized foreign interference in Syrian affairs and said that President Basher al-Assad will overcome the conspiracies by implementing his reform program. Qaddoumi thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its moral support for the Hamas government and said that the Palestinian government upheld resistance to Israeli occupation as its strategy to vindicate rights of Palestinian people vis-à-vis the compromise with the occupying regime./end
