Iran condemns Zimmerman’s acquittal

TEHRAN,July 20(MNA) – Iran on Wednesday lambasted the recent court verdict acquitting U.S. neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in death of an unarmed black teenager. The acquittal of the murderer of the black teenager once again displayed the systematic racism against religious and ethnic minorities in the United States, Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi said. He added that the verdict has seriously called into question the fairness of the justice system in the United States. Araqchi also advised the U.S. government and its Judiciary to abide by international law and human rights commitments and take practical steps to put an end to discriminatory acts.
