Iran Cooperates With IAEA In Line With Transparency Of N-Program: Sr. MP

Tehran, Oct 13, IRNA – A senior Iranian lawmaker said on Saturday that Iran is cooperating with International Atomic Energy Agency in line with transparency of Iranian nuclear program and the western governments must take positive steps in nuclear talks due to be held in Geneva on October 15-16. Mohammad-Hassan Asafari who is a member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told IRNA that a timetable should be set in order for negotiations to yield furit. To show their goodwill before the start of nuclear talks, the Western governments could make decisions about insurance of Iranian oil tankers or lift the ban on imports of Iranian oil by China, India and Japan, Asafari said. The Iranian lawmaker called for the talks to be held at foreign ministers level in the capitals of negotiating countries. He called for the inclusion of a member of the Majlis commission by Iranian negotiating team to boost coordination between the Parliament and Foreign Ministry. Noting that uranium enrichment inside the Iranian soil is Iran’s inalienable right that could not be given up, he said that uranium enrichment should not be discussed in Geneva talks./end
