Iran criticizes Arab League for handing seat to Syrian opposition

TEHRAN,April 6(MNA) – On March 27, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi criticized the Arab League for allowing an opposition leader to fill Syria’s vacant seat at the organization’s annual summit. With Syrian membership to the Arab League suspended in November 2011, the seat at the summit on March 26 was filled by Moaz Alkhatib, the leading figure among Syria’s opposition coalition, according to Reuters.
