Iran Determined To Pursue Implementation Of NAM Plans : Mashaei

Tehran, May 2, IRNA -- Head of the Secretariat of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei said Iran as the current president of the movement aims at implementation of plans approved by the member states. Rahim Mashaei said the main purpose of Iran, during its presidency over the NAM, is to stabilize a common approach towards global management. He made the remarks in a meeting with a group of artists to discuss the NAM cultural capabilities. Rahim Mashaei said NAM is the second most important and biggest international body after the United Nations that can accomplish great achievements in the world arena. Iranˈs three-year presidency over the NAM can be considered as a proper opportunity for activating the movementsˈ potentials, said the official. He added the movement can play an effective role in creating peace and friendship in the world as well as preventing conflicts.
