Iran held most democratic election in the world: Iran`s Rafsanjani

TEHRAN,June 16(MNA) – Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Saturday that Iran had held the most democratic election in the world. He also said that the perceptive and vigilant Iranian people, who closely monitored the country’s situation and were well aware of current political events, created a political epic through their enthusiastic and stunning participation in Friday’s presidential election. The faithful Iranian nation showed that they were not affected by propaganda campaigns launched from inside and outside, he said. In addition, Rafsanjani expressed hope that the elected candidate would make every effort to fulfill his election pledges, resolve the economic problems facing the people, and improve the country’s foreign relations based on national interests.
