Iran-Kuwait high commission meeting to be held in late summer

TEHRAN, July 15 (MNA) - The Iranian ambassador to Kuwait said on Sunday that the meeting of Iran-Kuwait high commission will be held in Kuwait in late summer with the participation of Iranian foreign minister and representatives of relevant organizations. Ambassador Ruhollah Qahremani, in an interview with the Mehr News Agency, commented on postponing the meeting of the high commission until after the parliamentary election in Kuwait and after the month of Ramadan and said, “There will be talks on economic, business, consular, and legal issues with the aim of increasing common investment in the two countries.” Qahremani pointed to the commissions previously established between the two countries on commercial, legal, and consular issues which addressed the problems facing Iranian residents in Kuwait and those regarding obtaining visa and passport, saying that those commissions could help the upcoming commission be successful. He also commented on the Kuwaitis’ good investment in Iran and said, “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuwait has been selected by Mr. president as one of the eight active embassies in creating premier interaction to attract foreign investment.” In addition, Qahremani numerated the achievements made over the past year, including the holding of Iran’s cultural week in Kuwait and the Iranian symphony orchestra in the Arab country, and the establishment of legal and commercial commissions there and said, “Such activities will increase in Kuwait after the upcoming meeting of the high commission.” He stated that all regional countries should rely more on each other to reinforce cultural, commercial, and economic relations instead of relying on countries with which they have no cultural affinities.
