Iran launches intl. NAM news agency

TEHRAN,Aug.2(MNA) – In a ceremony at the presidential office in Tehran on Wednesday, the International Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) news agency was launched. On the sidelines of the ceremony, Mohammad Sheikhan, an official at the public relations department of the XVI Summit of the NAM, said that the international NAM news agency is available in three languages of English, Persian, and Arabic, and all member states can use the news agency through its website addresses (nam.na.ir and nam.gov.ir). He also said, “We are preparing the ground to add the Spanish and Urdu languages to the websites.” Sheikhan also commented on the guests of the summit and said that so far 32 high-ranking delegations from various countries have announced that they will participate in the summit. In reply to a question about the West’s attempts to distort the reports concerning Iran, Sheikhan said that the approach of the hegemonistic powers is not confined to the Islamic Republic and they adopt the same attitude toward all free nations across the world. The powers try to censor all the news concerning the awakening of humans, justice, and dignity, he said, adding that they have no respect for human dignity and the rights of nations.
