Iran making preparations for 2013 presidential election

TEHRAN,Dec.16(MNA) – Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar announced on Saturday that the registration of candidates for the 2013 presidential election will start on May 7 and end on May 11. The 11th presidential election is scheduled to be held on June 14. Speaking to reporters, Mohammad-Najjar also stated that the elections will be conducted electronically in a number of constituencies. Elsewhere in his remarks, the interior minister announced that candidates will register for the fourth city council elections from April 15 to 21. City council elections will be held on the same day as the presidential election. He also expressed hope that the people would turn out in large numbers for the elections.
