Iran-Pakistan Enjoy Strong Brotherly Ties: Senate Official

Islamabad, Feb 7, IRNA - Deputy Chairman of Pakistani Senate, Jan Muhammad Jamali has said that Iran and Pakistan enjoy strong bond of friendship and brotherhood. Speaking to IRNA he paid homage to Founder of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini. He was of the view that today Iran is progressing in all fields because the country is pursuing independent foreign and trade policies. “Pakistanis are happy on the development of Iran, we share a long border with our brotherly country Iran,” he added. Jamali said that in present situation people of Pakistan are standing with their brothers in Iran. Highlighting the importance of Iran-Pakistan multi-billion gas pipeline, he said the project would help overcome the energy crisis in Pakistan. The politician added that it is very encouraging to see that project is near to its completion. He pointed out that Iran and Pakistan are not only cooperating in gas pipeline project but also in electricity projects. “Iran is our Muslim neighbor and the relations between the two countries will continue to grow,” he added. Wishing that visa requirement be lifted between Iran and Pakistan, he said the Iranian brothers are always given warm welcome in Pakistan./end
