Iran Police Chief Urges Intl Co-op To Fight Terrorism

Ankara, Oct 5, IRNA – Iranian Police Chief Brigadier General Esmail Ahmadi Moqaddam has called for international cooperation to fight terrorism. In a message on the occasion of Police Week in Iran, he stressed that serious threat the regional countries are currently suffering from include organized crimes, money laundering, human and arms trafficking as well as smuggle of narcotic drugs and terrorism. He added that terrorists are now able to carry on with their evil schemes and criminal activities using the money they obtain through drugs trafficking. The brigadier general referred to drug trafficking as one of the most important threats in the contemporary world and expressed sorrow that despite all international and regional efforts the evil phenomenon keeps spreading all over the world, posing threat to the global security. Referring to the Iranian police forces as the flag bearer of anti-narcotics campaign in the world, he voiced Tehran’s readiness for any kind of cooperation with all regional countries./end
