Iran President: Arrogant Powers Behind Extremism In World

Tehran, Aug 29, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that the arrogant powers are behind extremism which is the enemy of the humanity. In a meeting with Mali Foreign Minister Djibril Bassole, he added that today Muslim nations are friends with each other and they have even no problem with the followers of the other religions. He also described the nation of Mali as pious and kind and said that Mali boasts of natural resources and is capable of making progress. The enemies do not want the country’s progress and independence, he said, noting that the officials will surely over come the problems and pave the way for progress. Stating that Iran will also be alongside the country and a friend of it, Ahmadinejad noted that Mali is the land of great humans and theosophy, thought and culture. Today, the region is burning the fire of extremism and many are killed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan everyday due to the extremism of the arrogant powers, he contended. Bassole, for his part, appreciated Iran’s successful hosting of NAM Summit and pointed out that holding the event is a symbol of Iran political power.
