Iran President Departs For Tehran

Islamabad, Feb 18, IRNA -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Friday evening left Islamabad for Tehran at the end of his two-day state visit to the country. Pakistan Minister for Textile, other senior officials and Iranian diplomats saw President Ahmadinejad off at the military airport near Islamabad. The President held bilateral meetings with Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani on bilateral and regional matters. He spoke at a joint press conference with Afghan and Pakistani counterparts and stressed the need for solution to regional problems in the region and opposed any foreign intervention in the region. President Ahmadinejad was in Islamabad to attend the Afghanistan-Iran-Pakistan trilateral summit./end
