Iran sets conditions for attending upcoming Afghanistan conferences

TEHRAN, April 5 (MNA) – Mohsen Pak Ayeen, who is the director general of the Foreign Ministry’s Afghanistan Department, said on Wednesday that the participation of Iran in conferences on Afghanistan depends on whether or not a strategic agreement will be signed between the United States and Afghanistan. Kabul and Tokyo are scheduled to hold international conferences on Afghanistan in June and July respectively. Iran has repeatedly expressed its opposition to the conclusion of a U.S.-Afghan strategic agreement.
