Iran Spokesman Strongly Condemns EU New Sanctions

Tehran, Oct 17, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman strongly condemned the unconstructive and unacceptable move of the European Union in approving of unilateral sanctions against Iran. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, Ramin Mihman-parast on Tuesday evening said EU move in approval of the unilateral new sanctions against Iran shows that they are angry with strong support of the Iranians for development of peaceful nuclear program. He underlined that EU unilateral sanctions are illegitimate and in contradicting with international laws and regulations, such as freedom of trade and financial exchanges between nations. The spokesman added EU's insisting on using old fashion and non-civilized measures, instead of using diplomatic procedures and negotiation upon mutual respect will make problems more complicated. He continued that such an approach not only does not help solve the problem, but in current financial, economic crises, will have a negative effect on European states and Europe should be ready to face its consequences. Mihman-parast underlined that Iranians, in the past three decades, have had valuable experiences in confronting with unilateral sanctions of the west and will not ignore their inalienable and legitimate rights in this concern./end
