Iran, Symbol Of Resistance In Entire Globe : Official

Tehran, Aug 22, IRNA - Head of Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Mohammad Baqer Khorramshad said Wednesday that the Islamic Republic is a symbol of resistance in the entire world. Khorramshad told IRNA that Iran is one of the active members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) that could resist against the global domination of the East and West. The existing solidarity among the NAM member states has exerted pressure on the West, he added. Referring to the upcoming NAM meeting to be hosted by Tehran, Khorramshad said the movement is undoubtedly capable of playing effective roles in the international arenas. He then said Iran's presidency over the NAM for the next three years would foil the US plots against the country, reiterating that the Islamic Republic plays constructive role in bringing more stability to the movement. The 16th NAM Summit meeting is slated for August 26-31./end
