Iran-Syria Enjoy Strong Unity - Envoy

Kuala Lumpur, May 15, IRNA - Syrian Ambassador to Malaysia Mohamad Khafif said on Tuesday that Tehran and Damascus enjoy strong and consolidated unity. Khafif told IRNA that sanctions imposed on Iran are illegal and unfair. He further hailed the Islamic Republic's resistance against international pressures, noting that double-standard policies exercised by certain countries have exerted pressures on both Iran and Syria. The pressures are politically motivated, he reiterated. The Syrian envoy said Damascus is interested in settling the current crisis through diplomacy and dialog. On the recent terrorist operation in Syria, Khafif said the attack was aimed at damaging the Syrian infrastructures in order to topple the government./end
