Iran to unveil five new radioisotopes soon

TEHRAN,April 8(MNA) – Iran will unveil five new domestically produced radioisotopes in coming days, Vice President for Scientific and Technological Affairs Nasrin Soltankhah announced on Sunday. Soltankhah said that Iran would unveil 28 science-based products in the near future. The deputy director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced on March 3 that the production of a number of new domestically produced radioisotopes had started. Radioisotope is a radioactive isotope which is used in physical and biological researches and therapeutics. The radioisotopes which are produced in Iran are mainly used for diagnosis and treatment of various cancers or are used to alleviate cancer-related pains.
