Iran Urges Pakistan To Control Borderlines
Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA – Deputy interior minister Ali Abdollahi said the Friday night terrorist clashes in the city of Saravan was seemingly led from outside the Iranian borders.
Abdollahi who is deputy minister for security affairs also said that his ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are jointly working on the case.
According to the Interior Ministry website, the official pointed to the massacre of Iranian border guards by armed outlaws in the border area of Saravan in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan and urged Pakistani government to take further measures to effectively control its borders with Iran.
Referring to a security pact existing between the two countries, the security official called on the Pakistani part to check borderlines in a bid to stop terrorists.
He noted that 14 border guards were killed, 6 were wounded and 3 taken hostages during the last night terrorist operation.
He said officials are urgently following the case to help release the hostages./end
