Iran wants to see Iraq making progress: Iranian FM

TEHRAN, July 2 (MNA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran wants to see Iraq making progress.
Salehi made the remarks during a meeting with Nawshirwan Mustafa, the general coordinator of the Movement for Change of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, in Tehran on Sunday.
“Iran supports the stability, development, and progress of Iraq,” the Iranian foreign minister stated, adding that Iran is in consultation with all Iraqi groups and parties.
He also described relations between Iran and the Iraqi Kurdistan region as good and expressed the Islamic Republic’s readiness to help further develop the infrastructure in the Iraqi region.
Mustafa thanked Iran for the support it has provided to Iraq and called for the expansion of ties.
He also briefed Salehi on the economic and political situation in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
