Iran Welcomes Any Plan To Annihilate N-weapons : Salehi

Tehran, Feb 29, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said Monday evening that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes any plan to annihilate nuclear weapons. Salehi made the remark in a meeting with Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Stressing the importance of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), he said Iran is a faithful member of the NPT and fulfills all its commitments regarding its rules and regulations. Referring to Iran’s constructive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), he said Tehran is against all kinds of nuclear arms. Salehi stressed that Iran does not stand any double-standard approaches and supports a region free from nuclear weapons./end
