Iran : West Inflicted Most Serious Damage On Public Uprisings

Beijing, June 5, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini said the West has inflicted the most devastating blows to the public uprisings throughout the history. He made the remarks while addressing The 9th Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) Culture Ministers which opened here Tuesday morning. He believed the holding of the meeting in such a decisive time juncture was of prime importance and urged the organization to move towards materializing the ideals of the human kind and promoting cooperation and collaboration among them to improve people’s life conditions based on realities of life in the third millennium. He further referred to democracy, freedom and justice as the three most valuable assets of human beings and said they could not be materialized in the absence of ethics and religious teachings. The minister also noted that the Shanghai meeting has been concentrating on these three elements and opened the way for economic, political, commercial, cultural and artistic cooperation among its member states by getting together organizations and societies belonging to different countries. Hosseini further stressed that clash of civilizations is the manifestation of the fear of the western capitalist system of the expansion of thoughts which promote justice and encourage love and equal opportunities for all human beings to achieve development and progress while the holy Islam scolds such attitudes and manners./end
