Iran will not yield to superpowers’ demands: Supreme Leader

TEHRAN,Sept.20(MNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said that Iran will not give in to superpowers’ demands.
“Today, thanks to the people’s presence on the scene, the Islamic Republic is not accepting the words and demands of any superpower and makes decisions according to the interests of the country and people, even if its decisions anger all world powers,” the Leader said during a meeting with a number of armed forces on Tuesday in Noshahr, Mazandaran Province.
Ayatollah Khamenei also praised the Iranian nation for supporting the Islamic system and said that the people’s support helps officials resist the enemies’ illegitimate demands.
“These days, certain countries that have staged revolutions are forced to adopt certain policies due to pressure from the Americans, while the officials of the Islamic system have stood up to pressure over the past 33 years,” he noted.
He went on to say that compared with the early years of the Islamic Revolution, the enemies’ hopes of overthrowing the system elected by the Iranian nation has diminished, a fact which illustrates the strength of the Islamic Republic.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader pointed to the country’s scientific progress and said that young Iranian scientists are making such great advances that are unbelievable to certain people.
