Iranian Army unveils new military achievements

TEHRAN,April 21(MNA) – The Iranian Army unveiled three military achievements in a ceremony held in Tehran on Saturday on the occasion of National Armed Forces Day. The Fadak hand-held radio, the Sahand 3 missile launcher, and a simulator for the T-72 battle tank were the pieces of military hardware which were unveiled in the ceremony. On the sidelines of the ceremony, Army Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said that the domestically designed simulator for the T-72 was highly advanced and could be used to train three crew members simultaneously. He also said that the Fadak radio was a very efficient radio system which could not be easily tracked. The Sahand 3 missile launcher will quadruple the probability of missiles hitting the designated target, he added. Elsewhere in his remarks, Pourdastan said that the Army would stage a military exercise in the three first months of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21. Ground troops will practice asymmetrical warfare tactics in the war games, he said. In addition, he said that a major military achievement in the field of manufacturing simulators would be unveiled this year.
