Iranian deputy FM discusses Syria with foreign ambassadors

TEHRAN,Nov.15(MNA) – During a meeting on Wednesday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed the situation in Syria with a number of ambassadors of foreign countries based in Tehran. Amir-Abdollahian told the ambassadors that Iran will make every effort to help restore peace in Syria so that national dialogue will be held in the country. Tehran will host a Syrian “national dialogue” meeting on Sunday. On Tuesday, Amir-Abdollahian said, “In addition to representatives of political groups, minorities, and the opposition, representatives of the Syrian government will participate in the (Sunday’s) meeting.” He also stated at the time that the motto of the meeting is No to Violence, Yes to Democracy. In addition, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament, met with the Russian ambassador to Tehran, Levan Dzhagaryan, on Tuesday. The two officials discussed Syria during the meeting.
