Iranian EC chairman says he will work to resolve the country’s problems

TEHRAN,May 13(MNA) – In his first statement after registering for Iran’s 11th presidential election, former president Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Sunday that he would work to help resolve the problems facing the country. Rafsanjani emphasized the necessity of promoting moderation, national unity, and public confidence in the system, expressing hope that the upcoming election would open a new chapter in Iran’s contemporary history. He also said that the potential of competent forces from all persuasions should be utilized to help improve the country’s situation. The 11th presidential election is scheduled to be held on June 14.
