Iranian Embassy denies more Iranians abducted in Syria

TEHRAN, April 5 (MNA) – An official at the Iranian Embassy in Damascus dismissed as baseless the news reports that more Iranians have been abducted by armed groups in Syria. Over the past few months, 29 Iranian citizens have been abducted in Syria. Sixteen abductees have been released so far through efforts made by the Iranian Foreign Ministry. Thirteen Iranians are still in captivity.
