Iranian families condemn opening of MKO office in U.S.

TEHRAN,April 15(MNA) – The Iranian families who had fallen victim to terrorist acts by Mojaheeden-e Khalq Organization (MKO) have condemned the United States for allowing the terrorist group to open an office in Washington. The Justice Society, a Tehran-based association to defend the victims of terrorism, wrote a letter to U.S. President Barak Obama published on Saturday, condemning the move. The MKO office, which is located just a block from the White House, was opened on April 11 only months after the United States had formally removed the terrorist group from its list of terrorist organizations based on the claim that the group had renounced violence. The MKO is an Iranian armed exile group that has carried out a series of bombings and assassinations against Iran and fought alongside Saddam’s forces in the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war. The Justice Society warned Obama against the consequences of supporting terrorist groups including the MKO, saying that the move is a flagrant violation of United Nations resolutions to fight terrorism. It added that this organization is “literally a terrorist cult” and is responsible for murdering more than 12,000 Iranian citizens.
