Iranian FM urges Muslims to avoid sectarian conflicts

TEHRAN, Sep. 22 (MNA) – Iran’s FM has emphasized on importance of unity in the Muslim World and urged all Muslims to avoid sectarian conflicts. Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Arab League said that raising controversial issues among Shias and Sunnis will deviate from important issues of fighting against terrorism and extremism. Zarif told Nabil Al-Araby that all should cooperate to solve problems and urged for discourse and cooperation as well as responsibility to help eradicate terrorism in the region. Nabil Al-Araby regretted that the terrorists act with the name of Islam and against the Muslims and urged all to fight against this threat. In another meeting with Saudi counterpart, both foreign ministers emphasized on importance of cooperation and unity of both countries. Saud Al-Faisal emphasized that cooperation of Iran and Saudi Arabia would benefit Islam and Muslim World. Iran’s foreign minister and a delegation of Iranian nuclear negotiators have been in New York since last week for talks on Tehran nuclear program with the 5+1 group. President Rouhani will also leave for New York to attend UN General Assembly where he will deliver a speech.
