Iranian general plans to sue U.S. over sanctions against him

TEHRAN,Aug.29(MNA) – The chief of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces said that he plans to sue the United States for putting his name on its sanctions list. “I plan to lodge a complaint against the U.S. Department of the Treasury because they are opposed to humanitarian services and efforts in regard to Iran’s national security and independence and regard (them) as crime(s),” Major General Hassan Firouzabadi told on Sunday. According to the Washington Post, the U.S. put Firouzabadi’s name on the sanctions list in 2011, charging he was involved in human rights abuses. Firouzabadi added, “The United States must be answerable to the world’s people for its unwise, unjustifiable, and undocumented action.”
