Iranian Majlis speaker meets President-elect Rohani

TEHRAN,June 17(MNA) – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani held a meeting with Iran’s president-elect Hassan Rohani on Sunday in which they discussed a number of economic issues. During the meeting, Larijani congratulated Rohani over his victory in Friday’s presidential election, and the two consulted on the composition of the new government. “Today we took the first step for cooperation” between the two branches of government, Rohani said. “We discussed important issues facing the country, especially the cooperation between the administration and Majlis,” he added. Emphasizing that all problems in the country would not be resolved overnight, Rohani said that efforts should be made to gradually solve the issues based on moderation, ethics, and professional advice.
