Iranian MPs will impeach labor minister if Mortazavi retains post

TEHRAN, May 10 (MNA) – A number of Iranian lawmakers issued a statement on Wednesday threatening that if the decree appointing former Tehran prosecutor general Saeed Mortazavi as the director of the Social Security Organization is not revoked, Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Minister Abdolreza Sheikholeslami will face impeachment. Some lawmakers hold Mortazavi partly responsible for the Kahrizak incident, in which 3 inmates died. Mortazi was named the Social Security Organization director in mid-March and is now holding his post.
