Iranian Navy rescues oil tanker from pirate attack

TEHRAN,Jan.30(MNA) – The Iranian Navy on Sunday thwarted an attempt by pirates to hijack an Iranian oil tanker off the coast of the Persian Gulf Arab state of Oman. Several Iranian naval vessels intercepted two pirate boats that had surrounded and attacked the oil tanker, opened heavy fire on them, and forced them to flee.
