Iranian official to visit Libya for talks on abducted nationals

TEHRAN,Aug.10(MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that his deputy for parliamentary and consular affairs, Hassan Qashqavi, will travel to Libya in the coming few days to pursue the case of the seven Iranian aid workers abducted in Benghazi, Libya, on July 31. Salehi said that the abducted people are in good health and negotiations are underway to secure their release. On the fact that the kidnappers have demanded that Iranian officials take action to obtain the release of tens of Libyan nationals being held in Iraqi prisons in return for the release of the abductees, he stated that the issue does not concern Iran and any comments in this regard would be an act of interference in Iraq’s internal affairs.
